Cottages at Cockles
Some of the few cottages remaining on the site of the original village of East Lulworth in the eighteenth century. Elm Tree Cottage stands to the left of this row of thatched cottages. Notice the variety of building materials used to extend and repair the walls.

East Lulworth: thatched cottages
These attractive pink cottages face up the lane to Coombe Keynes. One of them (the one on the far right, if my memory serves) was the village post office until its closure in the early/mid 1990s.

East Lulworth: the phone box has been repaired
The telephone box was without its door when I photographed it in November 2009 (see Image) but it has since been repaired. The door is a noticeably less worn shade of red than the rest of the box.
