Branksome: Alder Road Post Office and postbox № BH12 225
This post office stands midway along a parade on the flat top section of Alder Road; beyond a side-road to the north is another parade.
The George V-reign postbox is emptied finally at 5:30pm on weekdays and at 12:15pm on weekdays.

Alder Hills, The Dorset Knob
Hall & Woodhouse pub in Alder Road. Internally, central rectangular bar with separate drinking areas to left, front & right. Pleasantly not over-modernised; dark wood glazed screens & stone fireplaces. Cask ale on offer at my visit: Badger. The name presumably refers to a traditional Dorset biscuit, which to some tastes like balls of very stale, very crunchy white bread.
