Bournemouth: suggestive advertising in Post Office Road
A gift shop approaches Valentine's Day with a rather suggestive poem along the lines of the 'Roses are Red...' rhyme, with a different one on the other side, equally sexual.

Bournemouth: postbox № BH1 12, The Square
This modern, plastic postbox stands on the first floor of WH Smith's, which has housed the main post office since March 2008. It is emptied finally at 5:15pm on weekdays and 12:30pm on Saturdays. There is another downstairs: see Image
On the right, we see the post office counters – the office is closed because today is Sunday.

Bournemouth: a partial eclipse of WHSmith
Looking down from Image as its shadow crosses the frontage of WHSmith in the town centre. The road at the bottom of the picture, Gervis Place, is reserved for buses and taxis and most of the arterial bus routes operate along here.

Bournemouth: main post office, 1896-2008
After occupying several locations, in 1896 the main post office in Bournemouth moved to these purpose-built premises in Beckford Place, which was renamed Post Office Road in around 1900. In March 2008 it is due to be relocated to within WH Smith.

Bournemouth: wedge-shaped shop between Old Christchurch Road and Gervis Place
These two roads approach The Square from very similar angles, leaving this rather interestingly shaped shop to gracefully curve around the corner. This pedestrianised section of Old Christchurch Road is actually omitted from the map, although the higher pedestrianised section is marked with 'gates' at either end.
