It's unusual to see these in use. I've been driving round here for years and didn't even know they were there. Planetrees Road in the foreground, with Peace Street going off to the left.

Former St. Mary's Church, Pawson Street
Former church now occupied by the "e:merge" youth outreach project. There is an OS Cut Benchmark Image low down on the wall beneath the sign. My parents were married here during the 2nd World War.

Former church of St Mary Magdalene, Laisterdyke
The church on Pawson Street was built in 1864, by local architects Healey and Mallinson. See Image for the other end. It was closed by the Church of England in 2009 and sold to E-merge (a Christian youth organisation). There appears to have been a subsequent change of use to a carpet and furniture warehouse, although e-merge appears still to be going, based elsewhere in the city. St Mary's congregation also continued, in a new building Image
