Skipton: Old route of the Haw Bank Tramway
This tramway was used to convey stone from the Haw Bank Quarry to the top of chutes down which it could be lowered onto boats on the Springs Bank Canal for onward transport. The tramway was removed many years ago and now all stone leaves the quarry by road transport.

Old Milestone, on the A6131 (was A59)
Near junction A65 Skipton by-pass. Located on the North side of road, on verge. Metal plate attached to stone post, WR casting design, 19th century.
Inscription reads: BOLTON / BRIDGE / 4¾ miles / HARROGATE / 21 MILES / KNARESBORO / (23¾ MILES ) // SKIPTON / 1 MILE // SKIPTON & KNARESBOROUGH / ROAD / SKIPTON L B

Skipton:Old well
I was intrigued by this small stone structure by the side of the track of the former Haw Bank Tramway. On further investigation, it proved to be a well, presumably disused many years ago.
