Bolton Woods quarry
This disused quarry and its spoil heaps are a familiar sight of Bradford's skyline. (EDIT: Although this area is disused, there is still some active quarrying beyond the muck heap.)

Shaft for Frizinghall to Esholt sewage tunnel
Have you ever wondered how all Bradford's sewage gets to Esholt treatment works (see SE1840)? It goes through a 4,807 yards long, 10ft wide, 400ft deep tunnel from Frizinghall under Wrose, Idle and Thackley. The tunnel was opened in 1923. Hidden in Bolton Woods, this is one of the tunnel's ventilation shafts. There is also a picture of its twin in SE1737.
