Leeds and Liverpool Canal, Dock Bridge (209)
Bridge#209 (Dock Bridge) carries Dock Lane over the canal. It is of a relatively modern design with chunky non-traditional railings along the bridge and on the banks of the canal. The swing mechanism is automated, with automatic barriers at either end of the bridge. Dock Lane is so called because it led to one of the few dry docks along the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. The dock was located to the southwest of the swing bridge, but alas has been filled in and the site redeveloped.
