Morton Bridge maintenance - temporary footbridge
This temporary footbridge was provided whilst Morton Bridge, a swing bridge carrying a road over the Leeds & Liverpool Canal, was temporarily out of use for replacement of the bridge deck. Road users were diverted.

Milestone next to Morton swing bridge
The milestones along the canal have been restored in the last couple of years. This one indicates 110 miles to Liverpool on this side, and 17 miles to Leeds on the other.
