Decorative cast iron gate posts - Bradford
These cattle-headed posts were on Filey Street at the entrance to Waddington's animal rendering works. The gate posts have now been relocated to the new works entrance on Buck Street Image The old location is now the entrance to the car park for the RBS offices.
I am indebted to Stephen Armstrong for tracking this down for me.

Hammerton Street Filling Station
Compare Betty Longbottom's earlier photo Image In less than four years it seems to have gone from being a regular (though small) filling station selling petrol (then 99p/l) to one more focussed on commercial clients, offering only diesel and gas-oil. Someone is filling barrels up with the latter. It's difficult to see the prices on the sign sideways, but the diesel price seems to be obliterated anyway.
