Telephone exchange, Abb Scott Lane
An architecturally bland building whose function I deduce from the BT Openreach sign at the entrance.

New houses being built on Abb Scott Lane
The site may have been associated with the nearby ironworks in the 19th century, but had been disused "brownfield" land for a long time thereafter.

Moorside Works, Abb Scott Lane
A sign advertises "modern industrial units" to let, but I could see nothing deserving that description. These buildings appear as a saw mill on the 1852 map and may have had several uses since then, currently as the registered offices of various companies.

Moorside Farm, off Abb Scott Lane
Listed grade 2, this farmhouse apparently dates in part to 1700 although most of it is early 19th century (the older part is to the rear). It certainly appears on OS maps as early as 1852, pre-dating Abb Scott Lane itself.

The houses still look quite new although Image shows they have been here for at least seven years.
