"Buffs Club" (Hope Terrace) 2-4 Walton Street, Colne
Published Date: 22 December 2009 A Colne club has been granted permission to operate with a premises licence despite fierce opposition from neighbouring residents. Following the closure of the RAOB Club (Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes - Colunio Institute) in Walton Street, which operated for private members under a Club Registration Certificate, new owner Patricia Bulcock has refurbished the outlet to reopen it as a profit-making business. Fountain Street, Colne, Lancashire
The building jutting out in the foreground is part of the former Zion Baptist Church, now in commercial use, while behind are the five houses of Fountain Street, Nos. 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9 from left to right. There never was another side to Fountain Street, nor were there any more houses, although the street itself formerly extended a little further to a junction with Walton Street. The houses is the distance are on Essex Street.
