Goodshaw Fold is an old settlement right at the bottom of the valley. Goodshaw on the hillside behind is more recent and has quite a lot of social housing.

The Spewing Duck
This picture was taken in 1982 showing the water fountain known locally as "The Spewing Duck". It was erected in the 19th century by the residents to commemorate a Mr John Hargreaves and was renovated in 1978.
