Asda Rawtenstall
IT might not be popular, but it’s here to stay.
Asda's new store in Rawtenstall has met with fierce criticism from the public. Councillor Anthony Swain said "the council was aware of the public’s views and that there were plans to lessen the building’s impact. It looks industrial – there is no doubt about that – but there is a landscape softening scheme yet to take place"
Local residents have been disappointed that the new Asda was not more in character with the local surroundings.
