Cowpe Road
Cowpe is a small hamlet in Rossendale in the South Pennines, north of Scout Moor Wind Farm. It is thought that the name 'Cowpe' derives from 'Cow Pastures' https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cowpe but that is unconfirmed. The hamlet has a mixture of housing; terraced houses, cottages, farmhouses, renovated houses and semi-detached. The hamlet has been steadily growing over the last decade with many of the outlying derelict farms and barns being brought back into use.

New Housing Development at Cowpe
Kearns Village is the name of a new development of houses at Cowpe. They are built on the site of the former Kearns Mill which dated back to the eighteenth century but was demolished in 2015. See Image] for a photograph of the mill taken in 2006.
