The Chapel, situated at the bottom of Long Lane in Tockholes, was founded in 1662 and was one of the first non-conformist Chapels in the area,
The present Church built in 1880 stands on the foundation of the original Church which was built in 1710 as confirmed by the stone plaques over the doorway which read "Church founded 1662, Chapel built 1710, Rebuilt 1880" (Image])
