Wilpshire railway station (site), Lancashire
Opened in 1850 on the Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway's line from Blackburn to Hellifield, this station closed to passengers in 1962.
View north towards Langho and Hellifield. 52 years after closure, one of the platforms can still be seen.

Carved stone post by the A666, in parish of WILPSHIRE (RIBBLE VALLEY District), Whalley Road, Wilpshire, 10m North of entrance to 'The Knoll' in wall, on East side of road. Blackburn stone, erected by the Clitheroe to Blackburn & Mellor Brook turnpike trust in the 19th century. Partly buried.
