Carved stone post by the A666, in parish of WILPSHIRE (RIBBLE VALLEY District), Whalley Road, Wilpshire, 10m North of entrance to 'The Knoll' in wall, on East side of road. Blackburn stone, erected by the Clitheroe to Blackburn & Mellor Brook turnpike trust in the 19th century. Partly buried. Inscription reads:- : TO / WHALLEY / 4 MILES / BLACKBURN / (2¾) : Milestone Society National ID: LA_BBCL02.
