The Tank, Revidge
The summit of Revidge was once the site of a 227,000l / 50,000 gallon water tank supplying the higher parts of Blackburn. It was removed in 2001 and there is now a toposcope here. The view is rather fine.

Colourfields, the Panopticon in Corporation Park
This battlement viewing platform stands more than 200 metres above sea level allowing long views over Blackburn and the West Pennine Moors. The stone barrage formerly hosted two trophy Russian cannons captured during the siege of Sebastopol https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siege_of_Sevastopol_(1854%E2%80%931855) and presented to the town by Lord Panmure, the Secretary of War, as a reminder of the British victories in the Crimean War https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crimean_War and they were mounted at the top of the park in 1857 on this specially built 'battery'.
The cannons have since been removed and, in 2006, the stone battery was developed into ‘Colourfields’, the first in a series of landmarks called 'Panopticons' - a project of the East Lancashire Environmental Arts Network.
