Looking east. The width of this street is because formerly a tramway ran down the left hand side, which conveyed coal from a colliery northeast of here to a staith near the town centre.

Trouble at t'mill
Grove Mill looking slightly the worse for wear. The modern red and white building seen behind the chimney is Shuttleworth College. On the horizon behind the trees is the spire of All Saints and John the Baptist Church

Sadly this small public house is no more and has been converted into a private dwelling. The faded sign still swings forlorn to remind us what was here.
