Uncle Tom's Cabin
Wincanton High Street. The thatched pub was first opened by Thomas Green in 1861, in 2013 it closed due to falling trade (like many premises in the High Street) however in this view it appears to be open again.

The doctor is out
A doorway along the High Street bears an old painted sign for 'Medical Officer'. The building seems no longer part of the health system and crumbling stonework reveals it is actually based on lath and plaster.

Shop front in Wincanton
What appears to have been an Alldays store in the High Street has been closed for some years now. Although boarded up, it now has a rather strange appearance, what with some radiant patterning and possibly spray-foam filler. See Image for a wide view.

A sign of friendship under the blossom
A small plinth under a tree bears a mark of Anglo-French friendship. See Image] for a closer look. Beyond is the library and museum.
