edge of town, nearly 2km (a little over a mile) by road to Market Place in the centre of Castle Cary.
Walkers can use a slightly shorter route via a path at the SE edge of the station.

June 2015 Glastonbury Festival delays sign alongside Ansford Hill, Castle Cary
Already in place in early June 2015, the yellow sign warns of delays on the roads to Pilton, the site of the Glastonbury Festival which is taking place at the end of the month. Nearby Castle Cary railway station is the closest one to the Festival site which is 13km (c8 miles) away. During the Festival additional trains are provided, and there are special buses from the station to the Festival.
