2009 : Railway to Merehead Quarry
The single track line to the right goes to Merehead Quarry about a mile along. A single line to the left continues to Cranmore where it meets the East Somerset Railway end on. (Not head on you note.) In the other direction the branch joins the main line at Witham Friary. Cranmore Tower appears on the skyline Image

2009 : Single track branch line serving Merehead Quarry
Not, as it appears, a double track merging into a single line, the rail to the left is one of two branches into the Merehead Limestone Quarry, the other leaves about half a mile further on (behind the camera) forming a triangular junction. The "main" line continued to Shepton Mallet and beyond until it was closed at Cranmore. The small blip on the horizon to the right is Alfred's Tower Image

Farmland north of Long Lane
The track along the field edge is mapped as Coveyhill Lane, but does not go anywhere. The wind turbine is not yet on readily available maps, but seems further away than it appears, and in the next square.
