Up return holiday express on the S&D near Shepton Mallet
View SE, towards Shepton Mallet, Templecombe and Bournemouth on the Somerset & Dorset Bath - Bournemouth line. This Summer Saturday train was the 11.12 Bournemouth West to Sheffield and had two LMS 4F 0-6-0s, Nos. 44424 and 44422 at its head. (See also Image]). No. 44422, withdrawn in 6/65 - a long-time 'pal' of mine - survived into preservation and is now on the Nene Valley Railway.

Horse jumps
This jumble of horse jumps (and one lonely horse centre left) are part of Rosamond Green farm which lies off Form lane to the north of Bowlish.

Old Down Tunnel under Windsor Hill
The Windsor Hills tunnels were on the Somerset and Dorset line, or the "Slow and Dirty". There are in fact two, an Up and a Down side by side, but built at different times They were closed to all traffic in March 1966.
