2008 : Shops at Peasedown St. John
Pop into the bakers for a cheese roll for elevenses, into the hairdressers for a shampoo & set (I should be so lucky!) then to Ken's Fish Bar for lunch. Life is good in Peasedown.

The blower replaced by flowers
An old phone box is now a community asset, having flowers instead. Note the chains to ensure they stay on display, although the glass has been removed.

Old letterbox on the Fosse Way
Peasedown St John is bisected by the old Roman Road, and had grown around it. Here is an old Edward VII letterbox, founded by W.T. Allen, set into the wall.

Bath Road, Peasedown St John
Bath Road bisects Peasedown St John and contains most of its shops and services. On the right are the premises of the former 'Daily Bread' bakery (which did not long survive a bad food hygiene rating in 2018). Beyond it are the Zodiac Hair Studio http://zodiac-hair-studio.edan.io/ and the Barber Zone https://barber-zone-peasedown-st-john.business.site/ ; the latter replacing a coffee shop which was presumably killed off by closure in the pandemic.

Bath Road, Peasedown St John
Also the Fosse Way. The post office is just beyond the hair salon and the vet's. Not only is Peasedown St John one of the largest villages around, it must also possess one of the widest range of facilities https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peasedown_St_John#Facilities_and_amenities of any village - in fact, had it a cinema or theatre, plus larger supermarkets, it would probably qualify as a town.
