In recent months, we have received a number of complaints about the use of E Transport in Peasedown St John, Neighbourhood Officers will be speaking to E Transport users to educate and if necessary, enforce current legislation.

Since the seizure of an electric motorcycle in October, we’ve had no further reports of nuisance E-Bikes in the Peasedown area. With Christmas approaching, we’d like to remind parents and guardians to consider the legal requirements before purchasing or allowing the use of such vehicles.
Electric motorcycles and certain high-powered E-Bikes often require insurance, registration, and a valid driving licence to be used on public roads. Using them without meeting these requirements can lead to enforcement action, including seizure.

By raising awareness early, we aim to encourage positive choices and foster respect for others.

There are increasing reports of youths or young people who are driving cars without either licence or not in accordance with their licence.  The cars are in some cases uninsured, untaxed and are not road legal i.e. with no MOT.  They are driving around the area sometimes with several other people who are of a same or similar age.

We are aware youths are either purchasing cars for a low price on facebook or taking parents cars in the middle of the night.

We are encouraging parents to have conversations with their young people around the dangers of this behaviour, and we are asking members of the public to report any suspicious activity, driving or sightings that maybe linked.

Your Neighbourhood Policing Team have been working closely with our partners in B&NES council, following a report to police an illegal community car suspected as being used by underaged youths has been sized and removed from the Albert Avenue area of Peasedown St John by the local authorities. We will continue to work with our partners to remove these vehicles that are a risk to our young people and the wider community.

As we approach the summer period, you may notice an increased police presence in the Orchard Way area. This is part of our ongoing efforts to prevent crime and address anti-social behaviour (ASB), helping to keep the community safe.

We would like to remind residents to continue reporting any incidents of ASB or anything that causes concern. Your information is vital and helps us take appropriate action.

Although recent reports of young people driving illegally have decreased, we are still urging members of the public to remain vigilant and continue reporting any such activity. This enables appropriate action to be taken and helps ensure the safety of our communities.

Reports of very young youths driving vehicles in our area have reduced. However, we remain aware of similar incidents occurring in some of the surrounding villages.
Recently, a Neighbourhood Officer stopped a vehicle in Timsbury, which was being driven by a 15-year-old. Incidents like these highlight the significant risks associated with underage driving, both to the driver and to other road users.
We would encourage parents and guardians to be mindful of where vehicle keys are kept and to speak with young people about the dangers and legal consequences of driving without a licence or insurance. Any information regarding underage driving can be reported to the police.

The use of illegal electrically powered vehicles continues to be an issue within the area, along with nuisance motorcycles.
We have received several reports regarding a particular nuisance motorcycle and are actively seeking information about a black motorcycle with an exceptionally loud exhaust that has been causing concern within the community.
Any information that could assist in identifying the rider or locating the motorcycle would be greatly appreciated. Information can be passed to us directly or reported via the appropriate police reporting channels. Your support helps us take positive action and keep our communities safe.

There have been very few reports of anti-social behaviour (ASB) in recent weeks. However, we have received another report of wildlife being killed, which is currently being actively investigated.
With the summer holidays now upon us, we will be increasing our patrols across the area to provide reassurance and help prevent any issues from arising. We would encourage residents to continue reporting any concerns to us so that we can take appropriate action where necessary.
