The Romans are under the fourth and fifth
Lansdown Golf Club reaches out to the narrow strip of land between Further Slate and Brockham. Taking the area are holes 4 and 5, separated by a row of trees. Perhaps few players realise that they are going over a Roman villa site, along with several stone coffins.

David Barker seat
A memorial seat in the depths of Pipley Wood, near Bath. The wood has been given over to the public as a wildlife area thanks to the landowner who, with help from the local villages, have laid out some walks.

A sign at Lansdown Golf Club
These kind of signs make my blood boil. The public right of way was there long before the golf club and the users of the Bridleway have every right to walk or ride without fear of being hit by a golf ball. Just after taking this photograph I asked 4 golfers if they had public liability insurance, as they continued to tee off while I was walking on the Bridleway that ran alongside the freeway.
