Street High Street
Despite the overwhelming presence of the nearby Clark's Village, Street High Street is still thriving as a street with different types of shops.

Street High Street
A thriving town centre, no doubt thanks to the outlet village on the Clarks site. Street and Glastonbury have been deindustrialised with contrasting results. As always in this part of Somerset, the buildings are a pale grey from the local limestone - a pleasing colour on a bright Spring day.

There are other shoe shops
Not all shoes in Street are sold by Clarks. Here are two other outlets that just about survive on the High Street. I always wonder about 50% off a pair of shoes. Do you just get the left one or the right one?

Street High Street
The idea of Street becoming a huge tourist attraction as opposed to somewhere slightly obscure and extremely pleasant to live in, takes some getting used to. It's all because of the big shopping centre on the Clarks site.
