Avon and Somerset Constabulary - Street Neighbourhood

We have had a few reports of inconsiderate parking in and around the village of Keinton Mandeville, including the area near to the primary school.

Local Policing Team will monitor these area's over the next few weeks and take positive action where obstructions are found.

We are aware of recent burglaries in the local area. Please ensure your property is secure when left unattended. Be alert to any suspicious vehicles or unfamiliar individuals & report anything of concern.

Local officers are carrying out reassurance patrols to help prevent any further incidents gathering intelligence and providing a visible police presence.

Police patrols continue across our villages and rural areas.

We have received reports of thefts from vehicles, with tools being specifically targeted. In addition, a vehicle was recently taken from just within our boundary.
Please remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to us as soon as possible. Your information helps us respond quickly and keep our communities safe.

The Neighbourhood Policing Team have been made aware of recent concerns of parking issues in and around the Meadow Lane area of Walton Village.

We have already carried out some periodic patrols at different times during the week and also at weekends and have identified a number of vehicles that have caused some minor issues.

We have also engaged with motorists and other organisations, such as the local school and the football club held on Saturdays to try and make people aware and encourage better parking where possible.

The Neighbourhood Policing Team will continue to monitor this location when we can.

We would ask the local community to continue to report any obstructions in the highway at the time on the 101 number or alternatively, you can report online under the relevant section.

We have had a recent concern raised to the Neighbourhood Team about possible drug activity in the location of the village playing fields and surrounding area.

The local Neighbourhood Team will continue to monitor this location when we can, through targeted patrols and we will deal with any criminal offences that we come across appropriately.

If any local residents in the area believe they are witnessing drug activity, we ask them to continue to report this to us, at the time it is happening, with as much information as possible, including any registration plates of any vehicles seen.

This is due to some recent reports of poor/ illegal parking around surrounding roads of the swimming pool and we are working alongside the Somerset County Council parking wardens to address any issues found.

We encourage motorists to park responsibly and not to cause any obstructions or park over pavements.

If any road is obstructed, we ask residents to call 101 at the time.

The local Neighbourhood Policing Team have been paying passing attention to the area and have been working alongside the Civil Parking Wardens, who have the main responsibility for all “on road” parking enforcement.
Patrols will continue over the summer holiday’s to ensure free flow or traffic.
 

The Street and Glastonbury Neighbourhood Policing Team have received some complaints about vehicles travelling at excess speed along the A39 Street Bypass.

We will be paying passing attention to this area when we can, especially during the evenings and will be working alongside our "Roads Policing, Speed Enforcement Unit's" to help tackle this issue.

We would like to remind all motorists to adhere to the speed limits and help make our roads a safer place for everyone.

Any "Anti Social Driving " will also be taken seriously and we will take robust action when necessary, including the use of the "Section 59" from the Police Reform Act 2002, which gives Police Officers and PCSO's the power to seize any vehicle being used in an anti social manner.
