Entrance to the Royal High School
The Royal School, for the daughters of army officers, was originally on this site. In 1998 it merged with Bath High School to form the Royal High School. The main school building can be seen behind this elaborate gateway.

Replica metal plate by the UC road, in parish of CHARLCOMBE (BATH AND NORTH EAST SOMERSET District), Mead House, Lansdown Road, just South of junction with Northfields, set into stone wall, on East side of road. Bath Guildhall iron plate, originally erected by the Bath turnpike trust in the 18th century. Inscription reads:- 1 Mile from the Guildhall BATH Milestone Society National ID: SO_BAWK01.
