Queen Square
North side of Queen Square, arguably John Wood the elder's Palladian masterpiece of seven large houses of varying size, arranged with perfect symmetry around a grand 5-bay central pavilion.

21-27 Queen Square, Bath
A very grand effort, and an early example of a terrace being treated as if it were a palace. The individual houses are subordinate to the overall effect, emphasis and grandeur provided by the columned and raised ends, and the columned and pedimented centre. The intervening sections have pilasters dividing each bay (Image]). By John Wood the Elder, 1728-36. Grade I listed. Now all offices I think.
