Theatre Royal, Beauford Square, Bath
George Dance provided the design, local man John Palmer executed it. Frieze of festoons and masks aligned above each of the pilasters. Above are lyre finials and a Hanoverian royal crest. Built 1802-05. Grade II* listed. Obtruding behind is a fly tower, 1982, "a necessary evil".

14-21 Beauford Square, Bath
Modest two- or three-storey houses, built c1730 by John Strahan for John Hobbs, a Bristol sail-maker and timber merchant who developed the site. The splitting of several of the windows by a central mullion was apparently to avoid window tax. Grade II listed.
