2008 : Goose Street, Beckington
The name Goose Street is a reflection on the times when geese were raised locally and driven to nearby Frome or Westbury for sale "on the hoof" in the markets.

2008 : The Foresters Arms, Beckington
In ancient times when most people were illiterate, tradesmen relied on signs rather than words to advertise their wares. If you were a stranger in a strange place and saw a door with a bush hanging over it you would know you had found a hostelry. Originally the bush was the sign of good wine. Hence the saying "A good wine needs no bush". This one, however, over the door of the Foresters Arms is only for christmas decoration and will be gone in a few days. http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/13/13763/Foresters_Arms/Beckington
