Cast iron post by the UC road, in parish of RODE (MENDIP District), near church in Rode Hill, 20m South of Daubney House, on grass verge, on South side of road. C&M Classical iron casting, erected by the Black Dog turnpike trust in the 19th century.

The former Rode Church
This unusual church, with its double spire, is an impressive landmark. However, it is now a private house. It takes a lot to maintain spires like that. Its size can be gauged from the more modern two storey property in front of it.
