2009 : Minor road going west near Bedlam
But only during the rush hour.
This road is quite busy at certain times of day, being used as a east/west bypass north of Frome.

Lime Kiln Two in Vallis Vale
Certainly there were two limekilns reported as operating just downstream from Bedlam alongside the Mells Stream in the 1840s. The Mells Stream

Two bridges in Old Down Wood
The higher route bridges the old mining tramway of the early twentieth century with the aid of two bridges. Now no longer industrial, the wood is home to a network of footpaths and bridleways that use the old tracks.

Where lines cross
This part of Old Down Wood features some historic routes. The lower track is on an old tramway line that serviced the old steel works in Great Elm; the higher route was associated with the woollen mills that used the Mells Stream. Also in the woods here were quarries and limekilns.
