Having crossed the track, I spent some time looking back contemplating the scene - the trees, the sunlight and the sky made an impression. After a year of retirement, it is just starting to sink in that my time is now my own. Time photo taken 4.22 pm BST (British Summer Time).

Crossing made easy - Streetly, West Midlands
This is a railway line first opened on 1st July 1879 after many protests from local residents who were against allowing the line to be routed through Sutton Park. It was closed to passengers in 1965 as part of the Dr Beeching-inspired cuts but it is still in use for freight traffic so - look out. In 1957 the Scout movement held the World Jubilee Jamboree in Sutton Park and trains on this line played their role in transporting those who took part to the venue. Time photo taken 4.00 pm BST (British Summer Time).
