Smethwick Rolfe Street, Birmingham
Taken from a train window, this platform is for local trains into New Street.
I seem to remember also that there was a small number of inter-city trains that were scheduled to stop here, enabling commuters to connect to/from Stourbridge / Birmingham route, rather than commuting all the way into New Street - this might have been a sweetner, prior to the Stourbridge service being rerouted later into Snow Hill.

Old Talbot (1), 144 High Street
This is an old pub, which was certainly here in 1841, when the licensee was Thomas Robinson. He also ran a brewery on the corner of High Street and Brewery Street, which was there by 1834, and maybe earlier. That brewery is long gone and the site was later occupied by a branch of the former Midland Bank. The brewery would have supplied the Old Talbot in its early days, and fortunately the pub is still in business.
