The link between the church and Francis Asbury Centre forms the entrance to the centre. Francis Asbury was born in Newton Road, Great Barr http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1487796 and became was one of the first two bishops of the Methodist Episcopal Church, now The United Methodist Church in the United States of America.
