A4041 north-east - Newton, Birmingham
The A4041 runs from All Saints Parish Church at West Bromwich eastwards via Grove Vale, Great Barr, Queslett and Pheasey to the western edge of Sutton Park where it joins the A452 Chester Road. This view was taken at the western edge of the suburb of Newton, on the south side of the A4041. On the other side of the road, to the right of centre of the photo, are Marty's Landscapes and the Malt Shovel pub. Time photo taken 2.23 pm GMT (Greenwich Mean Time).

Bishop Asbury Cottage, Newton Road, Great Barr
Now a grade II listed museum, Bishop Asbury Cottage was the boyhood home of Francis Asbury who became the first Bishop of the American Methodist Church. The cottage is thought to date from the mid 17th century. It was built as a simple artisan’s dwelling consisting of brick, tile and timber. Originally part of a short terrace, it alone remained after the other cottages were demolished during the widening of Newton Road.
