Cottage(s) immediately north of the top lock
Grade II listed https://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101234155-cottage-immediately-north-of-lock-number-1-top-lock-perry-barr-ward#.Wqvy_9SLTGg in 1991, this is described as a "cottage with office attached", which comprised the left-hand side of the house. It dates from the early 1840s, albeit with subsequent alterations, and now appears to be converted fully to dwellings.

No 1 (Top) Lock at Perry Barr
The lock (and the one below it) was built in the early 1840s, and is Grade II listed https://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101276269-lock-number-1-top-lock-perry-barr-ward#.Wqv0JtSLTGg At the time of listing in 1991, it retained the original cast iron ladders, but if those lived in the grooves immediately outside the lock gates, they appear to have gone in the meantime.
