No 1 (Top) Lock at Perry Barr

The lock (and the one below it) was built in the early 1840s, and is Grade II listed https://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101276269-lock-number-1-top-lock-perry-barr-ward#.Wqv0JtSLTGg At the time of listing in 1991, it retained the original cast iron ladders, but if those lived in the grooves immediately outside the lock gates, they appear to have gone in the meantime.
