Cranes Park Road at the 96 metre spot height
A 1930s urban road design that has stood the test of time. Wide enough to park both sides and still get two vehicle through the middle, so the grass verges remain and the trees grow tall.

Footpath between Cranes Park and Berryfield Roads
Locals call this a gulley. I've also hear jitty, ginnel and snicket elsewhere but most people understand 'alley'.

Mapledene Primary School, Sheldon
When this school was built in the 1950s, Birmingham Airport was known as Elmdon Aerodrome. It was tiny and air traffic was very light. There's very little between the back of this school and the main runway of Birmingham Airport now. Living in this area, the children may get used to the noise.

Bus at Cranes Park terminus
National Express West Midlands 4939, an Alexander Dennis Enviro 400, turns in the junction of Cranes Park Road with Whitecroft Road (left) and Mapledene Road (right). Buses on route 60 perform a somewhat improbable looking U turn in this junction to reach the departure stop (just beyond the parked car on the left). This manoeuvre looks impossible, but is actually quite achievable thanks to the impressive steering lock on the Enviro 400.

Cranes Park Road, Cranes Park
Almost its east end, at the junction with Whitecroft Road (left) and Mapledene Road (right). National Express West Midlands bus route 60 terminates here; it approaches along Cranes Park Road (as one can be seen doing a little way away), then performs a somewhat improbable looking U turn in this junction to reach the departure stop (just beyond the parked car on the left). This manoeuvre looks impossible, but is actually quite achievable thanks to the impressive steering lock on the Alexander Dennis Enviro 400s used on the route.

No 60 bus turning round at 'Cranes Park'
The name the bus company use for their terminus is a back-formation from Cranes Park Road. There is no 'Cranes Park' - the nearby parkland is part of Sheldon Country Park.
