Piccadilly Arcade
It was built as a cinema in 1910, and converted to a shopping arcade in 1926. It was refurbished in 1989 by Douglas Hickman, featuring a series of ceiling paintings by Paul Maxfield, called A Life in the Year of the Chinchillas. (reference the Birmingham Mail). I discovered this by pure chance when changing trains at New Street.

Midland Metro tram No. 36 using a crossover track, Stephenson Street, Birmingham
A few days after this extension opened, tram No. 36 is seen using a crossover track to gain the correct side of the road for the journey to Wolverhampton.
