OS benchmark - New Oscott, gatehouse
A rather weathered OS cutmark on a stone in the doorway of the (locked) gatehouse to St Mary's college grounds; it was originally levelled around 1850 as part of the First Primary Levelling of the country at 461ft 11in above Liverpool Datum.
