Ghost trains only now - Edgbaston, Birmingham
This railway line opened in 1874 and finally closed in 1963, until then running from Monument Road to Harborne. The cycle trail/walkway now occupying this former route is 2 1/2 miles in length from Summerfield Park to Park Hill Road, first opened in 1981 and was resurfaced in 2009. There have been reports of some uncanny experiences from people on the route at dusk or during the hours of darkness. Time taken 1.00 pm BST (British Summer Time).

Harborne Walkway ,Hagley Road Bridge
The far end of the bridge is a modern concrete tube, scarcely tall enough for cyclists to pass through, and the trackbed has been substantially raised through the bridge. Compare the equivalent picture on this page http://www.disused-stations.org.uk/h/hagley_road/ .

Harborne Walkway, Edgbaston (2)
The footpath along the trackbed of the Harborne Railway, seen at the site of Hagley Road station. The platform was on the left, while Hagley Road itself is carried on a bridge immediately behind the photographer. The pedestrian ramp linking the road with the platform is still in situ, providing access to the footpath; the fence next to the bin ahead is alongside it.

Harborne Walkway , site of Hagley Road Station
One of three intermediate stations on the line, and the only one with a goods siding. This is more or less the same viewpoint as the final day photograph on this site http://www.disused-stations.org.uk/h/hagley_road/

Harborne Walkway, Edgbaston (3)
The footpath along the trackbed of the Harborne Railway, seen at the site of Hagley Road station. The north end of the platform was on the left, and beyond it was the goods yard, hence the width of the (now mostly overgrown) formation here.
