Victoria Square in Birmingham
Looking south-south-east towards Hill Street. The distant tower is the 39 storey 130 metres tall Radissan Blu Hotel about five hundred metres away. It was completed in 2006. In the foreground is The Iron Man, one of Sir Antony Gormley's pieces of "rusty" metal, made in Willenhall. This 1993 object has been reinstalled (overnight 23/24 February 2022) here after being removed from its original location nearer New Street on 5 September 2017 to allow "re-modelling" of the Victoria Square and its road/Metro layout. To make this one look especially artistic and creative Sir Antony has specified that it should lean 7·5° backwards and 5° to its left. I'm told that some people like it. There is another fine statue nearby of Queen Victoria. She doesn't look amused.

The River, by Dhruva Mistry a.k.a "The floozy in the jacuzzi"
This bronze figure is the centre piece of the water feature in Victoria Square. It was built between 1991 and 1993. Today the lady is affectionately referred to by many locals as "The Floozy in the Jacuzzi"! http://www.virtualbrum.co.uk/victoriasq.htm

Hill Street road works, Birmingham city centre
Hill Street is occupied by machinery and materials, leaving only a narrow passageway for pedestrians to access the buildings along it. Finding bus stops is an adventure. Perhaps the sign is meant to suggest that all the regular bus stops have been replaced by one grand unified "mega bus stop" outside the building works. Or it's just directing customers of the long-distance coach company, Megabus, to its relocated facilities. Whatever, I'm sure it'll all be fine in the end.
