A Black 5 at Tyseley in the 1970s
Visitors were free to wander the site and get close to the locomotives at this steaming day at Birmingham Railway Museum, now Tyseley Locomotive Works. The engine is LMS Black 5 5428 "Eric Treacy". It was named after Rt Rev Eric Treacy, Bishop of Wakefield from 1968-76, who was a very distinguished railway photographer. It only carried this name after preservation.
