Site of Ayot station, 1992
View eastward, towards Welwyn Garden City: ex-GNR Hatfield - Welwyn Garden City - Luton - Dunstable branch. There had been a station up the slope here, but it closed on 26/9/49. The passenger service to Dunstable continued however until 26/4/65 and goods until 1/66.

Ayot Little Green Lane and Ayot St Peter Road junction
This is where the Ayot Greenway goes back on to the old track of the Welwyn to Leighton Buzzard railway. The site of Ayot station is nearby (closed in 1949).

Digswell Hill
This house, surrounded by a high fence, looks out onto the old A1 - the Great North Road. Now the B197, it is relatively quiet but all the heavy traffic passes on the A1(M) at the rear.
