Redbourn Museum
This was the Silk Mill House, the house of the Manager of Woollam's silk mill, built in 1857 and in use as such until 1938. It was then used by Brooke Bond Tea Company, who had a tea packaging factory in the village. The house was given to the village when they left in 1999. Unfortunately, the museum was not open when I was there.

Old Boys' School
This was the other village school, which the boys went to when they moved from their infants school Image at the beginning of year 4, and stayed there until secondary school in St Albans. The tall part to the right was the Headmaster's house. The building is now a nursery.

A double dose of nostalgia
The horrible building in the foreground was a preschool nursery in the early 1940s, then a youth club in the early 1950s, and the brick buildings behind were the 'big boys school' [year 4-6], and headmaster's house.
