Developed in the 1930s or so, although the road is shown on late 19th century maps (as Townsend Road). On the left is part of Bernard's Heath.

Townsend Drive
Road bordering Bernard's Heath (on the left), first marked on the 1898 1:2,500 map as Townsend Road, but with no development. The 1924 edition was similar, but the 1939 edition showed housing as here, and with the current name.

Pegasus Place
c1990s development on Waverley Road replacing two industrial premises, marked on the 1924 1:2,500 map as "Waverley Works (Bleaching and Dyeing)" and "Acme Works (Electrical Engineering)", on the 1939 edition as "Waverley Works (Bleaching and Dyeing)" and "Acme Engineering Works" and on the 1964-5 edition both simply as "Works". Other references to the latter include "Adam Machine Tool Company Limited" in a 1948 document and "Horville Engineering" in a 1977 planning permission application.

Waverley Road
A road first laid out in the 1920s which old maps show when built followed the original municipal boundary of the city of St Albans. The housing on the left, Pegasus Place, dates from the c1990s and replaced two industrial premises, marked on the 1924 1:2,500 map as "Waverley Works (Bleaching and Dyeing)" and "Acme Works (Electrical Engineering)", on the 1939 edition as "Waverley Works (Bleaching and Dyeing)" and "Acme Engineering Works" and on the 1964-5 edition both simply as "Works".
