Aboyne Lodge School
Primary school in the centre of St Albans, built 1948-50 and designed for Hertfordshire County Council by the County Architect, C H Aslin, and D Barron. It was one of the first schools designed and built under the revolutionary "Hertfordshire System", which was one of the earliest uses of a prefabricated unit construction system. This allowed schools to be erected quickly, without the need for bricklayers who were in short supply at the time. Grade II listed - see https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1393724?section=official-list-entry.
